As Emirates and flydubai celebrate five years of partnership this month, they are offering customers unmatched travel options around the world. Since the partnership was launched in 2017, over 11 million customers have been able to connect on over 250,000 flights and enjoy seamless travel.

Emirates and flydubai mark five years of partnershipAs part of the innovative partnership, network collaboration, schedule optimization, seamless connectivity between Terminals 2 and 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), baggage transfers on a single itinerary, as well as reciprocal loyalty benefits under Emirates Skywards, the joint loyalty program.

Currently, customers have access to 215 destinations across 98 countries, with over 250 codeshare flights available each day. Emirates customers can book flights to over 80 unique flydubai destinations, and flydubai customers can book flights to over 99 Emirates destinations. Kathmandu, Kuwait, the Maldives, Tel Aviv, and Zanzibar are popular destinations for business and leisure travelers.

Emirates and flydubai’s joint loyalty programme has rewarded more than 8.5 million members with 150 billion Skywards Miles over the last five years. Customers enjoy seamless check-in, efficient baggage transfers, access to Emirates’ lounges at Terminal 3 and flydubai lounges at Terminal 2, reduced connection times as both airlines expand their flight schedules, and convenient connections to 33 flydubai destinations operated from Emirates Terminal 3 in DXB.

Each month, Emirates and flydubai add more flights to their schedules, creating new travel opportunities for the 270,000 passengers who travel between them. It allows customers to choose from multiple daily flight departures to destinations such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Karachi, the Maldives, key Saudi Arabian cities and Tel Aviv. In addition, both airlines have continued to expand their networks, with Emirates recently resuming flights to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.

A number of new destinations have been launched by flydubai in 2022, including Al Ula, Namangan, Osh, Pisa, and Samarkand. From 2023, flydubai will offer flights to Gan in the Maldives, Cagliari and Milan-Bergamo in Italy, Corfu in Greece, Krabi and Pattaya in Thailand, and Abha, Ha’il, Hofuf and Tabuk in Saudi Arabia.

As part of a $2 billion investment, Emirates will retrofit 120 aircraft with Premium Economy seats starting this month. The investment will also include elevated dining options and more sustainable choices. On its short and medium haul flights, flydubai has introduced a premium Business Class recliner seat. With a fleet of 70 Boeing 737 aircraft, flydubai will retrofit its existing aircraft, as well as equip its future aircraft, with its new Business Class seats.
