    The recorded location also places the quake 48 miles southwest of Seguam Island, roughly 64 miles southwest of Amukta Pass, and 74 miles east of Mount Sergief. Other nearby geographic features include Koniuji Island, Kasatochi Island, and Great Sitkin Island. Compared to deeper seismic events beneath the Aleutians, this earthquake was relatively shallow.
