Bahrain Fort to host biweekly sound and light showsBahrain’s civilizations are narrated through an audiovisual performance that adds an aesthetic dimension to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, providing an insight into Bahrain’s history. BACA will celebrate Bahrain’s diverse cultural and civilizational achievements throughout 2022.

Shows will illuminate the golden achievements propelling the Kingdom’s cultural movement and its sustainable infrastructure, thus the slogan of the year, “Golden Jubilee”. The BACA will revisit prominent projects and sites embraced within the Kingdom, including museums, visitor centers, information centers, castles, historic homes and sites deemed to be World Heritage Sites.

Among the most prominent sites are Qal’at al-Bahrain, the Pearling Path, and the Dilmun Burial Mounds. There will be a celebration of 50 books published by the Knowledge Transfer Project, all of which are among the most important literary works ever produced by civilization, translated for the first time into Arabic.

UN General Assembly Approves Shift Toward More Accurate World Map Projections

    September 5, 2026

NEW YORK / RankWire.AI / – In a landmark move aimed at enhancing cartographic precision, the United Nations General Assembly has endorsed a resolution supported by the African Union that encourages global institutions and educational bodies to gradually replace distorted world map representations. This measure responds to persistent critiques of the 1569 Mercator projection, which inflates the size of landmasses at high latitudes while diminutively representing equatorial regions. By backing alternatives that accurately reflect area, the assembly seeks to bring modern cartographic standards in line with true geographical proportions and to address inherent Eurocentric biases that influence worldwide communication.
