SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia is set to introduce direct flights connecting Sharjah International Airport and Amman City Airport starting November 15, 2026. Operating four times weekly, this new route broadens the airline’s coverage between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, which serves Jordan’s capital. The new service provides travelers with a second airport option in Amman on the airline’s Sharjah route network, further extending its scheduled Jordan connections.

Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight G9 169 departs Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return, G9 170, departs Amman at 11:20 a.m. and reaches Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Customers can book tickets through Air Arabia’s website, call center, or travel agencies, as bookings are now open.
This addition strengthens Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan network, which currently includes flights from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. The group also operates routes from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah route will extend the group’s services to Amman City Airport from another UAE city while maintaining its current operations to Jordan.
Air Arabia broadens access to two Amman airports
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that the new route offers travelers a second airport option in the Jordanian capital. He emphasized that this service will enhance convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between the UAE and Jordan. The airline announced the new Sharjah route on October 8, more than a month ahead of its scheduled launch in November. This service will run alongside the existing Sharjah flights to Queen Alia International Airport.
Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched its own route to Amman City Airport, beginning operations on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. This route also serves Queen Alia International Airport, providing travelers from the UAE capital with two options for reaching Amman. In April, Air Arabia stated that combined, the two Abu Dhabi routes offered 10 weekly flights to Amman at the time of the second airport service launch.
Sharjah’s new route adds four weekly flights to Jordan’s capital
The upcoming Sharjah service, identified by flight numbers G9 169 and G9 170, will follow a fixed schedule of four flights per week. Air Arabia’s fleet for this route includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are part of its larger network. The airline also provides amenities like SkyTime streaming, SkyCafe onboard menu, and its Air Rewards loyalty program. Passengers can reserve seats for the Amman City Airport flights ahead of the November 15 launch via the airline’s official sales channels.
This expansion enhances Air Arabia Group’s regional connectivity through its operations in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Alexandria. From Sharjah, passengers will have direct access to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Similarly, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi serves both airports from its base, while Alexandria offers a direct link to Amman City Airport. The scheduled launch in November will add four weekly flights between Sharjah and Jordan’s capital, further broadening the group’s regional route network.
